8/16/10: Antaeus

Antaeus was an ancient Greek sea god best known for wrestling with the Hero Heracles. The son of Poseidon and Gaia, he would challenge all who passed by to a wrestling match, much like walking through a trailer park on a Sunday afternoon. But, the battle with Hercules proved to be his down fall when the muscle bound hero discovered that contact with the Earth was the source of Antaeus’s power. Lifting him up into the air, Hercules easily defeated him.
