Pope Jumps on the Nazi Bandwagon

Not like you didnt’ already know it, but current Pope (Joseph Ratzinger), is a bit of a dunderhead. He has decided to throw what little tact he may have had to the wind and compare secularists to …. Nazis!
“Even in our own lifetime, we can recall how Britain and her leaders stood against a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society and denied our common humanity to many, especially the Jews, who were thought unfit to live. I also recall the regime’s attitude to Christian pastors and religious who spoke the truth in love, opposed the Nazis and paid for that opposition with their lives. As we reflect on the sobering lessons of the atheist extremism of the twentieth century, let us never forget how the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leads ultimately to a truncated vision of man and of society and thus to a “reductive vision of the person and his destiny” (Caritas in Veritate, 29).”
Yep, it’s the old atheism leads to Nazism meme … even though Hitler was religious (but just ignore that part). Pretty much anybody with enough energy to even open a book or a well written web page knows Hitler was a Roman Catholic, and whether or not he continued to accept the church as the final word in spiritual matters or not, he was devoutly religious and prayed throughout his life (see Hector Avolos’ chapter  “Atheism Was Not the Cause of the Holocaust” in the Christian Delusion for a very intensive look at Hitler’s religious beliefs).
So, why is da pope all up in our business? Well, it seems to me he’s doing what any ol’ joe does: he’s deflecting blame from himself. He does, after all, have a huge child molestation ring underneath him, one that he’s been the official man in charge of as head of the Doctrine of the Faith (aka, the Inquisition) from 1981 to 2005. Now he’s throwing red herrings out there to get people off his back. Pick a scapegoat that everybody can turn against in their frustrations (suspiciously close what Hitler actually did with the Jews). Very disappointing that a man with so much power is actually so petty and simple.

  1. I love that song!!!!

The next time some religious fucktard asks me “What would it take for you to believe in God.” I’m going to tell him: “When the Pope gets pregnant and contracts AIDS.”

  2. Victor Says:

lol! Yeah, that might not be enough for me, but pretty close.
